Entrepreneurial instinct is a family legacy that began with John’s father, Willie A. Belton, who owned rental properties and several small businesses consisting of trucking, insurance, barber shops, and entertainment. Alana’s father, Randall V. Gilbert, owned rental properties, and her Aunt and Uncle, Shirley and Arthur Burton owned a pharmaceutical store where she worked as a young aspiring entrepreneur. The family legacy of entrepreneurship inspired John and Alana Belton to continue the family legacy for future generations that led to the formation of The Belton Companies.
